If your are near or around Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, from 11am to 5pm, you might want to come and say hello at the "Journalism--Where We Are; Where We're Going" conference sponsored by the Journalism Program and the Robert C. Vance Endowed Chair in Journalism and Mass Communications.
I'll be on the 3:30 panel "When the Public Reports the News: Possibilities and Pitfalls" and will present the new Placeblogger to the group!
"This is a forum for talking about journalism and its rapidly accelerating changes," noted Vivian Martin, Coordinator of the Journalism program in CCSU's Department of English. "Our guest speakers will provide important information and insights for those wishing to venture into the field of journalism and anyone interested in the fate of newspapers."
At 7p.m. in the Torp Theater, Adam Davidson, global economics correspondent for National Public Radio, will deliver the keynote address, "From War to Wall Street."
The event is free and open to the public.
